Industrial Engineer / Manufacturing

Description

Your Responsibilities:

  • Analyze existing processes and systems and identify areas for improvement.
  • Design and optimize production layouts, equipment, and workflows.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient production operations.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and process inefficiencies.
  • Support the production department daily.
  • Improve, standardize and update working methods.
  • Conduct studies to determine the workload of personnel and plant equipment, if necessary, reorganize job tasks to maximize production efficiency;
  • Lead, manage, participate in continuous improvement activities and projects and oversee their implementation.
  • Play an active role in the continuous improvement projects (PVA, 5S, Kanban, Kaizen) and implement found solutions.
  • Conduct technical studies (work flow analysis, time and motion study, value chain, production line balancing, management plan, etc.) to maximize production efficiency.
  • Participate in production feasibility studies (identify sources of differences in costs).
  • Update building plans (factory).
  • Offer technical support to the production department, define tooling requirements and storage.
  • Support new product implementation.
  • Create and implement equipment and work cell layouts and installations.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Education & Experience Required:

  • University degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar position within a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications & Skills Required:

  • Advanced knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, product and process design.
  • Advanced knowledge of industrial equipment, including robotics, CNC machines, and other mechanical systems.
  • Strong mechanical engineering background with a deep understanding of mechanical systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, 3D Software and ERP / MRP.
  • Solid Work / AutoCad an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting schematics and technical drawings.
  • Excellent analytical problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaborate effectively in a team environment
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Attention to detail, prioritization and ability to work well under pressure.
  • Strong knowledge of process optimization techniques and methodologies
  • Fluent in French and English, spoken and written.
