Welder (evening)

Description

Your Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret drawings for the part design;
  • Perform necessary part preparation prior to welding;
  • Weld the parts to be assembled using the appropriate techniques (MIG, MIG on aluminum and steel);
  • Inspect and touch up parts as necessary;
  • Operate an overhead crane or forklift as required (an asset);
  • Use certain air tools (grinder, sandblaster, sander, riveter, drill, tape measure, etc.) or other more sophisticated tools (plasma metal cutter, etc.);
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.

Education + Experience Required

  • DEP in Welding - Assembly;
  • 3 to 5 years' experience with MIG on aluminum;
  • Experience in the lighting industry (an asset).

Qualifications + Skills Required

  • CWB Certification:
    • MCAW/FCAW - 2 positions (2FW and 1GF, an asset)
    • Alu/GMAW - 2 positions (2FW and 1GF,an asset)
  • Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines;
  • Understanding of technical and assembly drawings;
