Mechanical Assembler

Description

Your Responsibilities

  • Measure different metal parts using a tape measure;
  • Calibrate saws and drill presses to cut and drill metal parts;
  • Perform grinding and sanding of metal parts;
  • Use of different manufacturing jigs;
  • Read plans;
  • Print manufacturing drawings;
  • Know and apply safe practices for using tools (drills, saws, etc.);
  • Carry out the handling of the parts and the stacking of luminaire poles;
  • Ensure preventive maintenance of machining equipment (change of blades, cleaning of saws and the drill presses, etc.);
  • Notify the supervisor of the preventive maintenance to be carried out by technicians;
  • Assist the supervisor in the preparation of parts for painting;
  • All other related tasks.

Education + Experience Required

  • Theoretical knowledge equivalent to a high school level;
  • Diploma of vocational studies in the manufacture of metal structures and wrought metals (asset);
  • Related experience (asset).

Qualifications + Skills Required

  • Possess good physical capacity and good manual dexterity;
  • Be able to read a tape measure in millimeters and inches (fractions and decimals);
  • Possess knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Be able to express yourself in French and have a basic knowledge of oral and written English to interact occasionally with colleagues, clients and international partners who do not speak French;
  • Have the ability to organize themselves in order to manage a multitude of priorities and tasks;
  • Be "results" oriented;
  • Be a good team member;
  • Have a great capacity for adaptation and flexibility;
  • Demonstrate autonomy, initiative, and organizational skills;
  • Excellence in customer service as a priority and as value;
  • Possess the qualifications for the use of an overhead crane (asset).
