Lumenpulse Inc. (www.lumenpulse.com), a leading innovator and manufacturer of high performance architectural LED-based lighting solutions for commercial, institutional, and urban environments, has created an interactive light exhibit for an event marking the 25th anniversary of Architectural Lighting magazine.

Held at Jack Studios in New York City last night, the invite-only event titled "The Future of Light" brought together a cross section of the lighting industry including designers, manufacturers, researchers and educators to celebrate innovations in lighting design and emerging lighting technologies.

The evening featured PechaKucha-style presentations (a series of rapid-fire talks with slides) from lighting designers and other practitioners about the challenges and opportunities facing the profession today. The presentations were accompanied by manufacturer exhibits that explored new lighting innovations.

Titled "Lumensquare", the Lumenpulse exhibit was an interactive, artistic representation of how light can reflect and create moods. Guests were invited to enter a tunnel-like space and to select one of four emotions using a dial control. The visitor was then immersed in a light show reflecting their chosen emotion: a pulsating red beat represented ‘love', soft oranges and yellows provided a tranquil summer's day for ‘joy', a startling strobe effect was triggered by the ‘fear' command, while ‘confusion' prompted a kaleidoscope of colors.

"We wanted to show the relationship between light and emotion," said Francois-Xavier Souvay, founder, president and CEO of Lumenpulse, "This event gave us the opportunity to share our vision of how light is used to impact or reflect the senses and emotions by creating a unique environment - whether it be in art or practical applications."

Lumenpulse's award winning LED fixtures are already at work making this practical light/mood connection, providing a relaxing environment in the Yale-New Haven Hospital atrium, inspiring patients and staff at the Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center in Gilbert, Arizona, and generating excitement with sports fans at BC Place in Vancouver.

Lumenpulse is focused on the LED fixtures market, which totalled $3.8bn in 2010 and is estimated to nearly triple to $9bn by 2014 (Source: Strategies Unlimited).
