The October/November 2013 issue of mondo*arc magazine features a case study on the redesign of the Buckley Recital Hall at Amherst College, in Massachusetts.

The case study focuses on the impact of Lumenpulse’s Lumentalk technology, which allowed the school to convert the 45-year-old building to LED and digital control – without any re-wiring or renovations. Designed by Horton Lees Brogden, the resulting lighting scheme has cut energy consumption by 60% and eliminated maintenance costs that had soared to over $50,000 annually.

“Lumentalk technology allowed us to use the existing wiring, which gave us a lot of options, and helped overcome architecture that was hard to work with," said Carrie Hawley, HLB Boston's principal in charge.
