Production Supervisor

Reporting to the Production Manager, the role is responsible for managing and leading production floor employees to ensure efficient and timely production whilst maintaining CME quality standards.

 

Oversee daily operations, coordinate schedules and allocate resources to meet overall production targets. The role involves enforcing H&S standards, ensuring compliance, coaching, and proper training of production floor employees.

 

Supervisors address production challenges, implement process improvements and function as a communication link between management, support teams and production floor employees.

 

Additionally, they monitor performance, control costs and collaborate with maintenance & support teams to optimize workflows and meet organizational goals.

 

Responsibilities:

 Production Management:

  • Plan, organize, and supervise production activities to meet daily, monthly and quarterly results and On-Time -Delivery requirements.
  • Optimize resources allocation to improve efficiency; know your teams and strengths.
  • Direct daily operations to meet customer requirements including deadlines and quality standards through consistent presence on the floor.
  • Prepare and present results to the management team; communicate reason for production delays or issues to stakeholders.
  •  Collaborate with relevant teams to address production failures, equipment failures, material shortages and employee issues.
  • Responsible for resolutions of any production issues encountered on the floor, with short-term and root cause resolutions.
  • Monitor and control labour production costs; ensuring efficient use of labour.
  • Ensure adherence to CME's Quality Management System
  • Enforce safety protocols are followed to prevent workplace accidents; ensure machinery and equipment are operated safely.
  • Support the introduction of new products.
  • Analyze production processes for inefficiencies; suggest and/or implement process improvements by working with floor employees and the engineering support team.
  • Problem solving, develop contingency plans when faced with unexpected production challenges.
  • Provide direction and support through positive interactions with all personnel.
  • Inspire the team to strive for success, holding each other accountable and working together.
  • Manage time and attendance for employees to ensure adequate equipment coverage, correct timecards and that the attendance policy is followed.

Qualifications + Skills Required

  • Supervisory experience in an Assembly Line and/or Manufacturing environment.
  • Results oriented and dedicated to continuous process improvement.
  • Be able to manage several tasks at once;
  • Ability to promote teamwork and employee accountability in a context of constant and rapid change;
  • Be able to motivate employees and engage them in achieving a common goal;
  • Posses excellent interpersonal communication skills;
  • Knowledge of Windows environment; Microsoft Office
  • Essential bilingualism (French and English spoken and written); position holder will be required to interact daily with international colleagues.

Education + Experience Required

  • College diploma in industrial engineering, Electronics, Operations Management and/or in a related field;
  • 2 - 5 years' supervisory experience Assembly/Manufacturing environment.
